Happy April!

I know I say this month after month but it is hard to believe that we are already nearing this time of the year. I won’t complain though. The flowers are in full bloom, the days are much longer than they were 2 months ago and there’s something of hope and rest in the air.

Among all that beauty some of us may still be a little weary. Maybe in need of a vacation or just a hug. We’re almost to Lent but not quite near the end. Here, Lent really begins. Remember that our Lord was tested at the end of his fasting when most vulnerable and susceptible to temptation. And perhaps I’d like to think that sometimes in the desert at the times of greatest temptation He thought of Nazareth. He thought of home..

This is my intention with this month’s prayer prompt. To give us a place of rest. Not exteriorly in sin, comforts, or temptations but in our hearts. Where God has promised to “come make a home” within us (John 14:23). Here in this desert of our hearts is where we, by God’s grace, find the way back home.
